BE GRATEFUL TO YOUR PARENTS

His mother carried him in difficulty, hardship and danger which could result in her death. Thereafter, she educates and nurtures you and spends long nights looking after you. Allāh changes her blood to milk such that you can breastfeed. The best thing for rearing a child and making his body strong is that he drinks from his mother's milk. Her hardship is preceded by pregnancy and birth upon hardship, weakness and difficulty. After that the mother spends time with her child in education and care along with sleepless nights feeling tiredness and pain. All this followed by cries, so you must return that good (with good). This is why Allāh mentioned being thankful to Himself with being thankful to one's parents,

أَنِ ٱشْكُرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَيْكَ إِلَىَّ ٱلْمَصِيرُ

"Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination." 

[Sūrah Luqmān 31:14]

Friday Reminders

“O believers, when the call is proclaimed for the prayer on Friday, come to the remembrance of Allah and leave off business, that is better for you if you but did know.” 

[Al-Jumuah, 62:9]

    

Etiquette of the day of Jumuah       

     

Purifying and cleaning oneself and Dressing well for Salat-al-Jumuah

Prophet ﷺ said: “Verily, Allah has made this day (of Friday) a celebration for the Muslims. So whoever comes to Friday (prayer), then let him bathe himself, and if he has any perfume let him put some on, and use the toothstick.”

● [رواه ابن ماجه ١٠٩٨ وصحيح الترغيب ١\٢٩٨]

    

Reciting Surah al-Kahf

Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever reads Surah Al-Kahf on Fridays will be adorned with light from that Friday to the next.”

● (صحيح جامع الصغير ٢/٦٤٧٠)

     

Reciting Durood upon Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)

Prophet ﷺ said: “Send prayer upon me abundantly on the day of Jumu’ah (Friday) & on the night of Jumu’ah (Thursday night) for he who sends prayer upon me one time, Allāh sends prayer upon him 10 times.”

● [صحيح الجامع ١٢٠٩]

     

Make lots of Duas

Prophet ﷺ said: “There is such an hour on Friday, that if any Muslim makes Du’ā during it, his Du’ā will be accepted.”

● {صحيح البخاري ٥٢٩٥، صحيح مسلم ٨٥٢}

…and remember… “The deeds most loved by Allah are those done regularly, even if they are small."
